new freebie

Mary Joan shared a new freebie link, from Coats Bulgaria website, it's now on our free section. Check it out! :)

Violist Cat

Last week, my daughter asked me to make a gift for her classmate, Tsurayya Nur Afifah (Ifa), for her 11th birthday at January 30. She has been in the same school with my daughter since kindergarten, 7 years ago. And right now they are in the same class at 5th grade.

Ifa loves to play violin. She used to play it in yearly school play.
So I decided to do this violist cat. I remembered Svetlana did this cat and I happened to have the chart also. I do not know the chart name, but it has a similar design with the Catafiddle from Heritage Stitchcraft, only in different color. The Catafiddle has a brown cat, this design has a gray cat.

Christmas Designs

You can never be too early for Christmas!!  I like to start early.  So I thought I would share some of my smaller card designs with you.  I finished the Mouse with a stocking only yesterday.  I changed the stars on the stocking to gold to give it a bit of sparkle.  The last one is one of the Sports and Hobbies designs from Cross Stitcher.

SAL - time to stitch

We have new visitors and new followers on our blog, I'm happy to see you all! Welcome :D

We are planning our first SAL, if you haven't read about it, just take a look on this post. Everyone is welcome to join! :)

Option B has more votes so lets draw our plan ;)
» Stitch 3 cats, one per month, from February until April
» Each person can pick their favorites from the six patterns
» We can post our wips, our stitching progress but not the final result
» Closing, in May, we will post our finished piece (or pieces) and see how everyone did :D

Is this OK for everyone? :)
What about the time to stitch, is it doable? One cat per month or should we have more time?
Girls, don't stress, we want everyone to have fun. If you need more time feel free to tell, lets work it out for everyone ;)

So far, who is stitching:
* Nia - me :)
* Ana
* Svetlana
* Noni
* Dinny
* Joanita
* Astrid
* Lilibolero - please leave us your email to contact
* Alda (aka Artemania)

Who's up for a SAL?

SAL means "stitch-a-long", a group of stitchers working on the same pattern at the same time and sharing their progress with each other :)

Not everyone can buy cross stitch kits so I thought we could pick some chart from the Cross Stitcher magazine. Joanita suggested the cooking cats from issue 222, they're cute and can be applied in kitchen towels, apron, recipe book, postcards, frame,... just use your imagination ;)

We could make this two ways:

A) stitch all six cats, one per month, from February to July. We stitch the same cat on the same month. During this time we post photos from our wips and our finished stitching (just the stitching). To close, in August, we will all post our finished pieces and see our everyone did :)

B) stitch only three from the six cats, each one would pick their favorites. Equally, stitch one per month from February to April, posting here which one we are stitching and showing our progress. To close, the same thing, we will all post our finished pieces in May.

Which way do you prefer? Let's vote! :)
It's open to everyone!!! Even if you're not an author on the blog, you can join us ;)

Welcome to the world, Enzo.

My Cup of Tea

I did a cross stitch exchange with my fellow Indonesian cross-stitcher to welcome the new year 2011. I received a coin purse that I have posted about it on my blog. And I sent a card, My Cup of Tea pattern from CrossStitcher #229, September 2010.

I also downloaded the card mount from their website.

I picked this design because the cat is cute and adorable.. And the card mount color is very girly.. :)

Easy ABC

Hi everyone!

Our alphabet is still in progress. I want to show you the 'R' that I stitched for my youngest son, Rafael. It's cute or not?

Nice week to all!
