Waiting for Santa & Ice Skating Penguin

Hi Everyone

I've finished stitching Margaret Sherry's new freebie "Waiting for Santa".  He's just so cute, I had to stitch him straight away.  Fortunately, I had all but one of the Anchor colours, but I found a similar colour to replace it.

I've also stitched an Ice Skating Penguin from "Enjoy Cross Stitch at Christmas!"  Issue no. 1, which came out in 2008.  This magazine supplied all the threads and aida fabric.  I used the threads provided and hated them.  I also used three strands instead of two, so that it covered the fabric better.  I love the designs but not the threads.

Spooky Finish

This is my little Halloween finish - Pumpkin Pie from Cross Stitcher Magazine, issue 232 (I think!) that I did for a SAL. I think he's the cutest and another one of my list of the Black and White cats.

X is for X-stitch and kisses!

Hello, long time no see!  Everyone has been so busy stitching lately - love the designs and finishes.  Welcome to our new bloggers as well.  I have a couple finishes to share with you today.  Hope you like them.

My first finish is the X-stitching cat.  I stitched this delightful little kitty for the Craftbubble "Crazy for Kitty's" birthday exchange.  While stitching kitty I had this overwhelming desire to finish the card in purple and orange.  Must be the Halloween influence, although I have to admit I do like purple and orange as a colour combination - they do go so well together!

This little fellow came from the Best of Margaret Sherry book, although I do also have the design from one of the stitching magazine in my chart stash as well.

The second finish that I have to show you is the freebie kit from the World of Cross Magazine, issue 181.  Although the kit came with a card blank and I'm not going to do it as a card.  I will probably do another Christmas MS design for the card.

I have decided to make it into a little pillow and finish it with a nice Christmas print that we have in the fabric cupboard.  I will show you what I do with it in a couple of weeks once I get around to finishing it off.

So that's it for now.  My next post will be an update about my latest start which is the MS Christmas SAL.

Pop on over to my blog for further stitching updates!

Til next time, happy stitching

Snowman

Hello my friends
A month has passed since I published my first post.
Today I come to show you what I´m doing .

Snowman by Margaret Sherry

It was an experience that was fond of repeating, because it was very good embroider the same scheme with people from other countries and go see the progress of each one. I hope this group makes a new SAL so I can participate.
I love to be part of this group :)
To finish, kisses to all and continuation of a good Sunday.
My blog is monica-silva-28@hotmail.com, the name is 'O esconderijo da Mónica' :)

I'm So Excited..

I've been hoping for a copy of the The Best of Margaret Sherry ever since I first saw other stitchers talking about it on this blog. In fact, I didn't even know it existed until I started hanging out here. Well, a couple of weeks ago I finally saw a copy on Ebay that was within my price range (including shipping). And when I checked the mail this morning...

it had arrived! I'm so excited. I basically bought this sight unseen, with the exception of seeing the patterns on the cover and a few things posted here that people mentioned had come from the book. How wonderful to pour through it today and see all the gorgeous patterns inside. I've got so many ideas floating around in my head right now for gifts for friends and family (and for myself!)

Some new stitchings from me coming soon!!

Finished Santa!

At last!, I don't understand why I got the first breakthrough unfinished until I saw the design and found myself missing the plot of the snow ^ ^
A week and finished my snowman, after this, to work to make my Christmas decorations with felt.

Everyone is doing ever-so-well  with the Christmas SAL.  I have also finished my Santa.  I have really enjoyed stitching the pair.  I have decided not to put a pompom on top on them.  I think they look good either way.

Snowman

Hello Everyone

It's been some time since I last posted.   We are having an "Indian Summer" at the moment.    And here I am stitching a Snowman, which I have now finished.   I have stitched it on blue aida and not red, to make it stand out better.  I'm now stitching Father Christmas to complete the SAL.

When I finally posting!. Hahahahaha.
Well, here's my first draft Margaret Sherry, I'm new to all this, cross stitch and blogs, but better late than never.
I'm doing Aida fabric 5 points per inch, so it's very small.

Hope you don't mind me showing you my finish but I am rather proud of him. He is the second of the Black & White Cats I've finished and having fallen in love with him, plan on doing a lot more of him in the coming months.
